Terms of Service

The deal between you and FRELODY

Plain language, no fine-print traps. These terms explain what you can expect from FRELODY, what we expect from you, and the rules that keep the music flowing for everyone.

Effective date: 1 June 2026

1 Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and FRELODY ("we", "us", or "our") covering the FRELODY website, web application, mobile apps, and all related features (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service in any way, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, that's completely fine — but please don't use FRELODY.

The short version: paste a song link, get the chords, slow it down, loop the tricky bar, transpose to your key, and play along. Use it to learn and make music. Don't abuse it, don't break the law, and respect the artists whose songs you're learning.

2 Who can use FRELODY

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use FRELODY. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

By using the Service you confirm that you can form a binding contract with us and that you are not barred from using the Service under the laws of your country.

3 Your account

To unlock most of FRELODY you'll create an account with your email, or sign in with Google. A few things you agree to when you do:

  • Give us accurate information and keep it up to date in your profile.
  • Keep your password and devices secure — you're responsible for activity under your account.
  • One account per person. Don't share logins or create accounts to dodge plan limits.
  • Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you spot a sign-in you don't recognise.

We protect accounts with measures like password hashing, login monitoring, rate-limiting, and one-time email codes — but the first line of defence is a strong, unique password that only you know. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

4 What FRELODY does

FRELODY is a tool for learning and practising songs. Here's what you can do with it:

Paste a link, get chords

Drop in a song link and FRELODY analyses it into a chord-and-lyric chart you can read and play along to.

Slow down & loop

Drop the tempo to catch a fast run, and loop the bar you keep fumbling until it sticks.

Transpose to your key

Shift a chart up or down so it fits your voice or your capo, with the chords recalculated for you.

Read sheet music

Upload a photo of a chord sheet and our text recognition pulls the chords and lyrics into an editable chart.

Build playlists

Save favourites, rate songs, and group them into playlists — private, or shared with a link.

AI-assisted analysis

Behind the scenes we use AI to detect chords and structure. It's smart, but it's a best-effort interpretation — see Section 12.

Chord charts are interpretations, not official transcriptions. Automated and community-sourced analysis can get a chord, key, or timing wrong. Trust your ears and adjust the chart as you go — that's exactly why every chart is editable.

5 Free & paid plans

FRELODY has a Free plan and a paid Premium plan. The Free plan lets you analyse a limited number of songs and includes some practical limits (for example on song length); Premium raises or removes those limits so you can keep going.

Because song analysis is metered, your Free allowance refreshes on a regular cycle, and what you've used is shown to you in the app. The exact features, quotas, and prices for each plan are displayed on the Pricing page and in your account — those pages are part of these Terms, and they're the source of truth if anything here differs.

We may adjust plan features, limits, and pricing over time. If we make a change that materially reduces what you're paying for during a billing period you've already paid for, we'll honour your existing terms until that period ends.

6 Payments, renewals & refunds

How you pay

Payments are handled by PayPal and PesaPal. We never see or store your full card number, PayPal password, or mobile-money PIN — those stay with the payment provider. By paying, you also agree to that provider's terms.

Subscriptions & renewals

If you choose a recurring Premium subscription (monthly or annual), it renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel anytime; your Premium access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again after that.

One-time purchases

Some upgrades — like unlocking extra song analyses — are one-time purchases rather than subscriptions. Once a one-time unlock has been delivered or used, it is consumed and non-refundable.

Refunds

Because FRELODY delivers digital goods immediately, fees are generally non-refundable and we don't refund partial periods. Where the law gives you a mandatory right to a refund or cancellation, that right still applies. If something went wrong with a charge, email [email protected] and we'll make it right where we can.

Taxes & currency

Prices may be shown in a currency such as USD and may exclude taxes. You're responsible for any taxes, conversion fees, or charges your bank or provider adds.

7 Acceptable use

FRELODY is for learning and making music. To keep it that way, you agree not to:

  • Break the law, infringe anyone's copyright, or use FRELODY to distribute content you don't have the right to share.
  • Scrape, crawl, hammer, or bulk-automate the Service, or try to bypass plan limits, paywalls, or rate limits.
  • Reverse-engineer, probe, or interfere with the Service, its security, or the infrastructure it runs on.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to FRELODY or its analysis output without our written permission.
  • Upload malware, spam, or content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, or that violates someone else's rights or privacy.
  • Misuse other people's accounts, or impersonate anyone.

Heavy or abusive automated use is exactly the behaviour our rate limits and monitoring are built to catch. If your usage threatens the Service for everyone else, we may throttle, suspend, or remove access (see Section 13).

8 Your content

"Your content" means anything you add to FRELODY — uploaded images, edits you make to a chart, playlists, ratings, your profile, and messages you send us.

You keep ownership of your content. You only need to grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display, and share it for the purpose of operating and improving the Service for you — for example, storing your edited chart so it's there next time, or showing a playlist to people you share its link with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content others have already saved or shared, and copies kept in routine backups for a limited time.

You're responsible for your content. By uploading it, you confirm you have the right to do so and that it doesn't break these Terms or anyone else's rights.

9 Music, chords & copyright

The FRELODY name, logo, software, and design are ours and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don't give you any right to use our branding without permission.

We don't own the songs. The underlying musical compositions, recordings, and lyrics belong to their respective artists, writers, and rights holders. FRELODY provides chord analysis and practice tools as an aid for personal learning. You're responsible for making sure your use of any song is lawful where you are — and for honouring the rights of the people who made it.

Rights holder? If you believe content on FRELODY infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the work concerned, where it appears on the Service, and your contact details. We review notices promptly and remove infringing material where appropriate.

10 Third-party services

FRELODY works alongside services we don't control — the sites you paste links from, Google sign-in, and payment providers like PayPal and PesaPal. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those platforms or the artists whose songs you analyse.

When you use a third-party service through FRELODY, that service's own terms and privacy policy apply to your use of it, and we're not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. If a source platform blocks, changes, or removes content, that may affect what FRELODY can analyse — and that's outside our control.

11 Availability & changes

We work hard to keep FRELODY fast and reliable, but the Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may add, change, pause, or remove features, and we may run maintenance, without notice. Some analysis tasks (like chord recognition or pulling a song from a link) can take time or occasionally fail because of the source platform or processing limits.

We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every song can be analysed. We may set reasonable technical limits — such as file sizes, song length, request rates, and per-plan quotas — to keep things working for everyone.

12 Disclaimers & limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, FRELODY is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. In particular, chord charts, keys, timings, and other analysis are best-effort interpretations and may be inaccurate or incomplete. FRELODY is an educational and practice aid, not an authoritative transcription.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, FRELODY and its team won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, or USD 50.

Some places don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that can't be limited by law. You agree to indemnify FRELODY against claims arising from your content or your misuse of the Service.

13 Suspension & termination

You can stop using FRELODY and delete your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. When you delete your account we remove your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms, if your use harms the Service or other people, or if we're required to by law. Where it's reasonable and lawful, we'll give you notice and a chance to put things right. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as content licences you've granted, intellectual-property terms, disclaimers, and liability limits — continue to apply afterwards.

14 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction over any dispute — except where the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence grant you the right to bring proceedings locally.

Before heading to court, please reach out to us first at [email protected]. Most issues can be sorted out quickly and informally, and we'd always rather fix the problem than fight about it.

15 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll post the updated Terms here and refresh the "Effective date" above, and for significant changes we may also notify you by email or an in-app notice.

Your continued use of FRELODY after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using the Service and close your account.
